Accessibility statement

ekuITy is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with article 47 of French law n°2005-102 of 11 February 2005.

This accessibility statement applies to the website ekuity.tech.

Compliance status

The ekuity.tech website is partially compliant with the French General Accessibility Improvement Framework (RGAA 4.1). Non-conformities and exemptions are listed below.

Test results

A tooled internal audit was carried out on 29 September 2026:

automated check of every page of the site (104 pages) with axe-core (WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 rules, levels A and AA), completed in dark mode on a sample of 18 pages: no errors;
check of the accessibility tree, i.e. what screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver) receive, on a sample of 15 representative pages: names of links, buttons and fields, headings, page regions, status messages, symbols read aloud;
keyboard navigation, focus visibility, display at 320 pixels wide, text spacing, contrast of text and form field borders.

Provisional compliance rate: 90.3% of applicable RGAA criteria (56 compliant criteria out of 62 assessed; 39 criteria not applicable).

This rate is provisional: 5 criteria remain to be verified and are not counted.

To be checked by listening with a screen reader (NVDA, VoiceOver): 7.1 (script compatibility with assistive technologies), 7.5 (status message announcements), 13.5 and 13.6 (rendering of emoticons).
To be validated with the W3C validator: 8.2 (code validity).

Depending on these checks, the final rate will be between 83.6% and 91.0%.

Non-conformities

The following issues are known and being corrected:

Criterion 1.6 (detailed description of images) — Several charts in blog articles (comparison of measurement tools, electricity mix, carbon intensity, life cycle) only have a short text alternative; their detailed description is being written.
Criterion 1.8 (images of text) — The summary table of website footprint measurement tools is published as an image.
Criterion 8.7 (changes of language) — A few French expressions on English pages, and English ones on French pages (e.g. “Digital Cleanup Day”), are not marked as such for screen readers.
Criterion 8.9 (tags used for presentation) — In blog articles, callout boxes (definitions, notes, sources) use the quotation element.
Criterion 9.3 (lists) — Links in the main menu, submenus and footer are not structured as lists.
Criterion 9.4 (quotations) — Short quotations in article text are not marked up as such.

Corrections made

Criteria 1.1 and 1.2 — All images have a text alternative; images inside an already named link are decorative, so the same title is not read twice.
Criterion 1.9 — Image captions are associated with their image.
Criterion 3.2 — Secondary text (tooltips, required field notes) has sufficient contrast.
Criterion 3.3 — Form field borders reach a 3:1 contrast ratio.
Criterion 5.7 — Data table headers are associated with their cells.
Criterion 6.1 — “Read the article” links give the article title to screen readers.
Criterion 7.1 — Navigation submenus no longer use application menu ARIA roles, which announced arrow-key navigation that did not exist.
Criterion 7.3 — Dropdown menus close with the Escape key.
Criterion 7.5 — Form submission (“Sending…”) is announced to screen readers.
Criterion 9.1 — The heading hierarchy no longer skips levels.
Criterion 10.1 — Article tables no longer use presentational attributes.
Criterion 10.8 — The closed mobile menu can no longer be reached with the keyboard or read by screen readers.
Criteria 10.11 and 10.12 — Pages display without horizontal scrolling at 320 pixels wide and remain readable with increased text spacing.
Criterion 10.13 — The Escape key also closes submenus opened on hover or focus.
Criteria 11.10 and 11.11 — The contact form reports missing required fields and the expected email format, with a message linked to the field, before anything is sent.
Criterion 12.1 — A sitemap complements the main menu.
Screen reader output — Decorative arrows, check marks and emoji are no longer read aloud; links that open a new tab announce it.

Exemptions for disproportionate burden

No exemptions for disproportionate burden are currently invoked.

Content not subject to accessibility obligations

Third-party content dynamically inserted by external services (e.g. WhatsApp, LinkedIn share links).

Design choices for accessibility

Luciole typeface: the site is set in Luciole, a typeface designed for visually impaired readers (highly distinct letterforms, generous spacing).
Colour is never the only carrier of information: states (success, error) and comparisons (before / after) always come with an icon or a label.
Contrast checked in light and dark mode: the site’s colours are chosen to meet WCAG level AA (4.5:1 for body text) and are checked automatically on the main pages.
Dark mode: the site follows your system’s display preference.
